About the Author

Attending INTERPEX 72 rekindled a childhood interest in stamps. Being of Greek ancestry and married to a Haitian, it was only natural that my collecting interests should encompass these two countries. The modest prices of Haitian stamps contributed to my decision to specialize in the stamps and postal history of Haiti in 1975.

I am proud to have been a founding member of the Haiti Philatelic Society and served the society in various capacities including president from 1985-1995.

In addition, I have passionately collected postcards for more than 15 years. My postcard collection has grown considerably since 1997 when Haiti: A Catalog of Picture Postcards, 1897 – 1997 was published. It is noted that real photo postcards were excluded because most often it is impossible to catalog them without an illustration.
